Dominick Miciotta and Jason Smith at their home in Greenwich, Connecticut, before their move to Dublin

Jason Smith and Dominick Miciotta at their home in Greenwich, Connecticut, a few years before their move to Dublin.

We did not build GlobalWealth360 from a business plan. We built it from a move.

It began, before the pandemic, as a conversation about the kind of life we were building as a family, what freedom actually meant to us, and the stability we wanted for our children. When the world came to a standstill in 2020, that conversation turned into something more deliberate, and we started exploring our European ancestry and the possibility of a life abroad.

What passed for "global relocation research" back then was a mess. Reddit threads, Facebook groups, influencers, and a scattering of thin websites, but no trustworthy destination for reliable information about how to actually move abroad from America and what the move truly involves. Anyone who has spent five minutes in one of those chat groups can tell you it is like descending into a bottomless pit of misinformation, half of it from unhinged people and the other half from bots. We promised ourselves early on that once we figured out how to do this for our own family, we would build something that could help others do it without the noise.

We had advantages most people do not. And when it got too hard, we hired someone to move us. Guess what? It was still hard. I remember thinking, if it is this hard for us, with a lawyer in the family and decades of professional experience between us, what is it like for everyone else doing this with less?

Even with a traditional relocation company, the information vacuum was obvious. No conversations about personal finance, banking, Irish tax rules, or US tax obligations. No checklist, no offer to connect us with the right professionals. Our attorney referred us to a tax person, who referred us to an investment advisor, and we stitched it together ourselves.

What stood out was our relocation consultant, David Gilmartin. David went well beyond what anyone would have called his job, answering our questions, connecting us with the right people, and helping us actually settle in. That kind of service was not in a manual he was following. It was just who he was. So we asked him to join our company and run our relocation division.

Our Story

GlobalWealth360 grew out of two lives that had already been intertwined for years before they became a company.

Dominick spent his career in strategic marketing, higher education, entertainment, and operations, including roles as Chief Marketing Officer at Smith Legacy Law and Director of Marketing at Quinnipiac University Online. He is driven by helping people accomplish extraordinary things, from higher education to globally recognized entertainment talent to globally mobile families building new lives.

Jason is a Yale Law School graduate and has been an attorney in private practice for more than twenty years in New York City and the greater metropolitan region. Licensed in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Florida, he has built a respected practice as a litigator and a trusts and estates and tax attorney serving high-net-worth individuals, their companies, and their families. A referral-only attorney, Jason works alongside investment advisors, accountants, and tax professionals across the region and internationally. His range, as litigator, planner, and administrator, positions him to be his clients' champion, quarterbacking their team and advocating for their interests.

Two people, then, who had spent years approaching the same question from different angles: what does it take to build something that lasts, and to protect the people inside it?

Then we moved, and the question got personal.

In the end, we wanted more for our children than the life we were living could offer. By every external measure we were successful, with all the rewards that came with it, and still our days felt like a rat race that left us unsatisfied. Two successful, well-educated gay men raising our children in a community defined by wealth, we kept arriving at the same conclusion. There had to be more for our family than this.

Moving abroad is not a logistics problem to be solved. It is a lived human experience, and when you are doing it with children, the stakes only rise. Having a clear vision of what is missing from your child's life, and making the bold decision to move them toward it, can sound good in the abstract. It is no easy thing to do.

But trading a childhood spent in silos for one spent with freedom, bicycles, friends, and the kind of spontaneous play that used to be ordinary, makes all of it worthwhile.

How often do you get the chance to change your life? To step back, reassess, and move toward a freedom that lets you build the life you actually want, instead of staying stuck in a cycle that is never quite enough?

We learned that to be a great relocation company for Americans moving abroad, we had to account for all of it, not just the mechanics of the move, but what comes after: the experience of living, building, and creating happiness.

GlobalWealth360 is less a company we started than a continuation of what we were already doing, made deliberate. Two parents, two professionals, two Americans who learned firsthand that the real work of relocation begins long after the plane lands. We believe true wealth is measured in well-being, stability, time, and a life lived fully, wherever in the world you choose to live it.

The Team

Dominick Miciotta, CEO and Co-Founder of GlobalWealth360

Dominick Miciotta

CEO and Co-Founder

Dominick leads GlobalWealth360 with a simple conviction: that relocation is not a transaction, it is a turning point in someone's life, and it deserves to be treated that way.

His background spans strategic marketing, higher education administration, entertainment, and operations, including roles as Chief Marketing Officer at Smith Legacy Law and Director of Marketing at Quinnipiac University Online. He has served in board and volunteer roles with Franklin Pierce University and Kids In Crisis in Greenwich, Connecticut. He also writes personal essays on identity, belonging, and life beyond borders.

At GlobalWealth360, Dominick's focus is the client experience end to end. He believes every family deserves a single trusted point of contact who understands the whole picture, someone who coordinates the right specialists at the right moments and stays with you well after you have unpacked. That philosophy, that a move is something you walk through with people, not something that is done to you, runs through everything the firm does.

Jason J. Smith, Esq.

Co-Founder and Chief of Financial and Legal Intelligence

Jason brings the financial and legal intelligence that anchors GlobalWealth360's approach to cross-border life.

With his J.D. from Yale Law School, Jason is the founder of Smith Legacy Law, a boutique practice advising families on estate planning, asset protection, trusts, tax strategy, and multigenerational legacy preservation. His earlier career included global business and technology consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers, founding an internet marketing firm, and a clerkship with U.S. District Court Judge Robert N. Chatigny following law school. Colleagues trace his reputation for integrity and diligence to his formative years in Oklahoma and Texas.

Legal services are provided by Jason through Smith Legacy Law, not by GlobalWealth360. Within the firm, his role is to make sure relocation planning is built on a sound understanding of the legal, tax, and financial structures that cross-border life demands, and to help clients connect with the right qualified professionals in the relevant jurisdictions. Jason understands, from both his practice and his own family's move, that the structural decisions made early in a relocation shape everything that follows.

David Gilmartin

Vice President, Customer & Client Success

David brings more than two decades of global mobility and relocation expertise to GlobalWealth360, with a career built on a single principle: that well-designed mobility programs succeed or fail on the human details, not just the compliance checklist.

Before joining GlobalWealth360, David served as Client Services Director at Packimpex, one of Europe's leading relocation providers. Earlier, he founded and led Troika Relocations for nearly sixteen years, building a full-service relocation and mobility consultancy serving multinational clients across Russia and the CIS, often through periods of real uncertainty. His career began with fourteen years in sales and regional management with multinational FMCG companies across the EMEA region.

David holds the Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) designation from WERC and the MIM+ (Managing International Mobility) certification from EuRA, along with an Advanced Diploma in Immigration and Asylum Law from King's Inns and a degree in International Marketing and Languages from Dublin City University. He serves as a board member with Community Response, a Dublin charity, and as a Dublin Chamber Ambassador.

At GlobalWealth360, David leads customer and client success, focused on making sure that what is promised on paper is what clients actually experience, and that small issues are caught early, before they become failed moves.

If you are thinking about a move, or already in the middle of one, we would like to hear where you are headed. Let's talk about the life you are trying to build.
